After a busy first half of the month, punctuated by Meghan's birthday celebrations in Richmond the weekend prior to and in Raleigh on her actual birthday, we settled into the remainder of the month at home.
Oct.18: Out back enjoying the agreeable fall weather.
It's a rake!
With the advent of slightly cooler temperatures, the kids have been experimenting in the bath tub with "smokey" feet, i.e., putting their feet in the hot water and then pulling them out of the tub into the frigid temperatures of the surrounding air and watching them steam. Not sure I ever really observed any of this so-called "smoke", but they were certain of it.
Oct. 19: It's Friday, and what better way to start the weekend than to scare Mommy to death by climbing up on top of the playhouse roof. For the record still not sure how he got up there, but I think he was sufficiently nervous enough about the prospect of getting down that he hasn't attempted it again.
Hanging out with Daddy.
Ready for Mardi Gras. Meghan loves her beads.
Oct. 20-21: The weekend! Meghan starts the morning off right with a conference call, utilizing both the toy phone and her "hand phone".
A slight chill in the morning air causes Clara to bust out the gloves; I think it was about 60 deg. :)
As you can see, she quickly warmed up and shed her extra layers. Princess Presto and Alpha Pig to the rescue!
Super readers are at it again.
Clara unwinds after a hard morning at play.
Later on at the playground Meghan climbs on the jungle gym before sprinting towards the camera.
Sunday morning toy swap - Meghan is playing with the Magna doodle while Jack takes a turn on the classic Farmer Says See N' Say
Oct. 22: Balloon fun
Oct. 24: Preschool picture day. I could not get my little pumpkin to look at me for a picture at pick-up, but I'll give him a break because he smiled brilliantly for the camera during the actual picture taking.
Oct. 25: Gorgeous afternoon at the park
Oct. 26: Early morning message to Pop-pop!
At the park after school, checking out things from a different view
This week also wrapped up Spirit Week at Fred Olds.
Oct. 27-28: The weekend! Meghan was so happy to have finally been let out the back door.
Trying to steal the sidewalk chalk from her big sister for the purpose of eating it, no doubt.
Coloring & relaxing.
Coastering in the afternoon.
Later on at bath time, Meghan practices for her future gold medal parade.
Early Sunday morning at the park, there's a giraffe on the loose!
Oct. 30: Hanging out on the baby swing
Happy Halloween to round out October, then on to November!
Thank goodness for this blog. I feel like I haven't seen these kids in forever.... Missin' you guys.
