Happy New Year!

No updates from Christmas yet (let's be real, I'm still back in October). I thought I'd squeeze in one last post this year to make it my highest post count to date for a single year! and, more importantly, to end the year on a high note with this video of Meghan jumping. Here's hoping that next year is as full of fun and laughter as this video...

Happy New Year from the Carson clan.

Fall Trip to SoBo (Sept. 22 - 23)

After our buggy adventures, I traveled to SoBo the following weekend in September to visit Memo & Augs. Nay-nay and Pop-pop were there as well. The weather was gorgeous and we took advantage with lots of outdoor time.

Meghan exploring Aubrey's luxurious gardens.

Oops, someone knocked over the rabbit statue.

Fleeing the scene.

Same bunny statue, same garden, same outfit,  different baby. :)

Happy Birthday, Nay-nay!

49 candles and holding...

Napping in a foreign crib. Victory is mine.

Our tour of the SoBo church parks: Presbyterian vs. Baptist. Meghan surveys the layout at the First Presbyterian.

Help on the slide from Pop-pop.

Atop of the arc.

Another passenger.

Down the old school slide

Monkey boy.

Front of First Presbyterian church that just happens to be where Nay-nay and Pop-pop got married.

On to the Baptist church.

Headed up onto the equipment.

Climbing up the tunnel with Pop-pop.

Getting passed halfway up.

Back to Memo's giving high fives.

Bug Fest/Gramby & Su-su Visit (Sept. 15 -16)

Back to September! The second weekend after Labor day Gramby & Su-su paid us a visit. It was a busy Saturday in downtown Raleigh. There was Bug Fest going on at the Natural History Museum while Fayetteville St was packed with creative types for the Triangle's 4th annual SparkCon. Arts Together was helping out with the kids activities for the latter, so we swung by to participate.

The kids worked on constructing and painting tambourines & puffy hats with their AT art teacher, Ms. Renee.

Finished creations!

Meanwhile baby loose in the streets of Raleigh (never fear, the street was actually closed).

Jack and Grambles check out the street vents.

Moving on to the Bug Fest...

Madagascar hissing cockroach, yikes! You better believe I did not let that thing crawl on me.

Cricket

Praying mantis

Tarantula!

The next morning Clara and I headed to Apex to celebrate Kierstin's fifth birthday with a little gemstone panning at Blue Diamond Gemz. Each child was given a bag of dirt from the mines of Western North Carolina to clean... any gemstones found were theirs to keep! Clara had lots of fun and found all different kinds including garnets, sapphire/ruby, and amethyst.

Back at the ranch Meghan plays blocks with Grambles.

Su-su is in charge of watching me, so look what I'm doing.
