Meghan's (Last!) Preschool Christmas Chapel

Merry Christmas!

After Jack's holiday concert at school, Meghan's Christmas chapel was on Monday the 19th, her last one at preschool. SOB! Conveniently her brother and sister were sick, so they got to come see it too.

She's standing tall amongst her classmates.

Jack's Holiday Concert (12/15)

A blog post, a Festivus miracle! Well this will go down as the worst blog year on record, but before I vow to catch up in the new year, I will post two last seasonal spots from 2016. First Jack's holiday concert a week ago Thursday at school and then Meghan's (final) preschool Christmas chapel this past Monday.

Most of March

3/1 - Judging by Meghan's outfit, you can tell March came in like a summer's day. She decided to finally make the switch from the 3-wheeled scooter to the 2-wheeled one she got for her birthday.

3/10 - Meghan is excited for our first flowers blooming.

3/11 - We babysat Coop again this weekend. Playing with Coop in the backyard, Jack throws the ball and escapes from the swing set.

Coop made short work of one of Jack's soccer balls. Oops.

3/21 - Five months after the Wolf Walk-a-thon fundraiser through which we achieved our school-wide goal, the celebration Pirate Ship bounce house party was finally held during school. First graders Orrie and Jack were excited to get their turn.

During a period of time when no students had recess, Meghan got to play on the Pirate Ship all to herself, which seemed fair to me since Meghan suffered through me working on the Wolf Walk-a-thon for a a solid several weeks.

3/24 - Clara dressed as Ellen Ochoa, first Hispanic woman in space, for the 3rd grade wax museum.

February

2/1 - Now that January is over, someone's super excited about February.

2/4 - Finally got the most recent canvas of the children from last summer's (2015) photo shoot with my friend Katie mounted on the wall.

Mommy didn't do a good job reading the preschool calendar and missed the fact that it was "Crazy Hat" day. Thankfully they have a solution for deadbeat mother's at school, they make a crazy hat there. Meghan was quite proud of her creation.

2/5 - Oh man, we know it's nearing Mardi Gras when we receive a delicious Manny Randazzo's King Cake on our doorstep from the wonderful Kori. Obviously the kids are excited to dig in.

Delish.

2/6 - Breakfast of champions or perhaps kings.

Another addition on Clara and Jack's wall, the bottom of the two pictures is Jack's cityscape.

2/7 - The Superbowl might be over, but we're still sporting Patriots gear on Sundays around the house.

2/12 - It snowed about as long as it took for me to take this picture of the kids playing on the school playground.

2/14 - What better way to spend a wintry Valentine's day? Super fort time!

2/19 - And my children's picture corner is complete!

2/21 - Snuggling with Nay-nay when she came down for a President's day visit.

2/22 - How do you cool off in footed fleece PJ's? Unzip them and take one foot out.

2/23 - Jedi warrior crafted from dress-ups at the Hollars' house.

January Snowdays

1/10 - One of my favorite things to work on the week after Christmas vacation, the Science Fair! This year Clara decided to test different brands of glue sticks. Here are all of her test subjects:

Hard at work applying the glue.

1/12 - Working on her poster.

1/18 - Meghan and Jack playing with their new "Go Fish" cards.

1/22 - Our first... wintry weather. I hesitate to call it snow. There was a little bit of snow mixed in with the mixture of sleet and freezing rain. Nevertheless the kids had fun running around in it.

1/23 - Back out again to play.

We kept up the lights to ease us through dreary January.

Around the back yard part two.

1/24 - Ready for the Patriots game.

1/25 - Finally made it out of the house over to the park. They had fun mixing the snow with the normal park play.

1/30 - We babysat Brec's coworker's dog Cooper for the weekend. He really loves playing fetch and was patiently waiting for Jack to come down the slide and throw the ball to him.

The great Playmobil organization of 2016.

1/31 - Sunday morning playing with the long forgotten trains!

Clara snuggles with Coop.

Christmas in Richmond

12/25 - Christmas day! After opening presents and breakfasting in Raleigh, we traveled up to Richmond to visit family and friends for the holiday. First stop, Nay-nay and Pop-pop's house. The table looked lovely for Christmas dinner.

12/26 - The next morning the elves gathered around the Christmas tree.

Then we headed over to Gramby & Su-su's for another family Christmas celebration. At night we went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens to see the lights.

12/27 - Daddy, Mommy, Lucy, & Aunt Betts went down to a sports bar to watch the Patriots game.

Thankfully Uncle Jack and Pop-pop took the kids to Tuckahoe to play at the park.

12/28 - Morning relaxation in PJ's

Later on Meghan works on stringing a beaded necklace.

And Jack plays with modeling clay. Both came out of the new arts and crafts supplies box, a Christmas gift from Aunt Betts.

Later on snuggle time with Nay-nay.

Back from Richmond the holidays almost over our star is looking sad but still hanging on into the new year.
