Jack's Holiday Concert

Somehow I'm back to being 4 months behind on the blog, so to kick things off, let's start with a current event! Jack's first grade holiday concert was last night. I'm sad to report that his most animated song was the last one, "Kitty For a Present", which by the time they got to it, the camera battery died, so the video was taken on the iPhone.

The first graders.

Summer Richmond Trip, part deux (July 24 - 27)

First things first, a hair cut de DelShay, this time shorn for summer!

Later in the back yard it's pool time.

I forgot to pack pajamas for Clara, and somehow in the hunt for an old t-shirt of Nay-nay's for her to wear to bed, this happened.

On Saturday we went to Lee's River house and had an absolute blast.

Jack caught in a Lucy!hug.

We got the tube rigged up so the kids could play and not float on down the river.

Playing on the tube

Riding the waves from the passing motor boat.

Clara and Meghan fighting the current to drag the tube back to the dock.

Meghan takes a different approach to get back to the dock.

Pop-pop watches as the kids are carried away by the river.

He decides they're worth having around.

Clara tows them back to the dock.

Ahoy, mateys!

Jack making clocks out of his hands.

But never too busy to smile for the camera (heh, yeah right!)

Nay-nay takes a turn floating on the tube.

Poor Meghan is a tad frustrated trying to get up onto the inner tube.

Motor boat ride!

Hang on, Pop-pop!

Jack drives the boat! He was quite distracted by the all the dials in the dash.

Meghan driving!

Playing with the chain of tubes, trying to separate them to free the big tube.

Tubing time!

Clara's first time tubing! She takes a turn with Lucy.

Nice trizzle!

Lucy & Clara on the tube.

Now it was our turn. Circle of death, here we come!

The view from the dock as the boat passes.

Meghan's first tube ride with Mommy and Clara.

Me, Clara, & Meghan: Clara gets a little splashed in the face.

Is Meghan having a blast or what?

Actually I think we're all having a blast!

Finally getting over the wake.

Hands free.

Parting shot. What a great day at the river.

Sunday morning at Tuckahoe - Clara does the rings.

Next up, Barnes family visits Raleigh.

July on Land

So I didn't quite catch up before the start of Fall, but on this rainy, dreary early October morning, let's take a look about at our "July on Land" as opposed to our time spent in the water.

7/2 - Meghan shows off an interesting outfit.

7/3 - We caught Clara and Meghan snuggling together in one of the kids favorite hideaways in the yard.

Happy 4th of July! We went to the neighborhood parade at the elementary school and had our cook-out but didn't manage to take a single picture except this one.

Jack shows off his spinach hotdog. The boy is a regular Pop-Eye!

7/6 - Jack hunting for some more "Henry and Mudge" books.

7/7 - Jack and Meghan biking. After our biking excursion over the weekend, the kids were eager to hit the pavement again.

Summer ice cream treat.

7/10 - At Cameron Village waiting for Nay-nay to finish up in a shop.

7/12 - Daddy & Meghan on the tandem with Jack zooming around them.

Mommy & Meghan on the tandem with Jack hot on our trail and Clara following not too far behind.

Jack showing off his "lightning stick".

7/15 - Meghan sings "Frosty the Snowman"

7/18 - Megatron trick-a-doing

7/19 - Carmen's bday party rocket launch, Clara's rocket.

While Mommy and Clara were firing off rockets, Meghan and Jack stayed home with Daddy eating giant slices of watermelon.
