As always it seems surreal to pack up the holiday decorations and go back to school when you've just had so much fun celebrating Christmas and New Year's.
Jan. 5 - We may have taken down the tree, but Meghan is clearly not ready to let the holiday go as she sings "Jingle Bells". I'm sure I don't know where she gets that from.
Meghan continues to thwart Brec and not sing "Rudolph".
Jan 8 - Not sure whose planning this is, but the Olds Science Fair is held the first week of school after the Winter break. This is less than ideal for all parents involved in helping. Somehow we got it done. Clara's demonstration answered the question, "what makes a rainbow?"
Later on that night I took a picture of Jack's hair blown dry. He really tried his hardest to look at the camera and smile, though he couldn't manage it in one pic. Therefore top one is Jack smiling, bottom frame is him looking at the camera.
Jan. 9 - Brec and I with Meghan went out to Bida Manda for lunch. It was a pretty long wait for the food, but Meghan was a trooper.
Jan. 19 - Clara tries our her new fuzzy vest from Nay-nay to brave the back yard in the afternoon.
Jan. 20 - Meghan and Jack await breakfast on their school holiday. Meghan is twins with baby Maya.
Jan. 21 - Walking home from school.
Jan. 22 - At the park Meghan gives me a winning smile next to Sydney.
Jan. 29 - Olds has quarterly assemblies in which children can receive a "Pack" medal for exemplfying "Pack" behavior. Clara was awarded one for the second quarter.
The second graders who received medals. It just so happened that this assembly coincided with pajama day, so the attire is a bit more casual than one might expect.
Jan. 30 - We walked home from school to find THIS at our doorstep, a great, big King Cake from Manny Randazzo's from the lovely Kori Forster representin' NOLA. As you can see, the kids were psyched.
We felt no shame and broke into it after dinner.
Wishing a happy Mardi Gras day to Kori. Poor Meghan gets out shouted over each time she tries to express her well-wishes.
Meghan rallies and finally gets her Happy Mardi Gras! out.
Obviously everyone is very excited for King Cake.
Clara found the baby!
Selfie with my sweet #12 jersey on. Go Pats! (It is a lot easier looking at this picture now knowing the season's result, but at the time we were in a world of stress!)
Next up, February!
