After the first week of school we visited Richmond for Labor day weekend.
On Saturday Brec took the children on a Richmond adventure to the Byrd Park Pump House.
Checking out the waterfall at the Pump house.
Surveying the giant smooth rock.
Sliding down the rock.
Next stop Maymont park, investigating the statue.
Then on Sunday Lee had us out to his river house for a day of fun on the Pamunkey River. Daddy & Jack chillin' on the inner tube.
Nay-nay decided to join them. Therefore you know two things to be true, the air temperature must be hot, and the water must be warm.
Both Clara and Jack got a chance to fish for the first time, and Jack actually snagged a catch!
Once the tide cooperated, Lee was able to get his boat in and took our whole family out for a boat ride. It was the kids first time on a motor boat, and they loved it. Even Sydney got to join in the fun!
And at the very end of the day, we got to ski! Second try I made it up for the first time in almost two decades. I've still got it!
And with a killer dismount back at the dock...
Speaking of still got it, Nay-nay got up on the skis her first attempt. Well done, Nay-nay!
Nay-nay rocking the water skis!
What a fun way to unofficially end the summer!
