January: Various and Sundry

January Wrap-up

And now for the rest of January:

On Saturday the 11th there was a tornado warning in Raleigh as huge thunderstorms rolled through (yes, we are talking about January!).

The aftermath.

Sunday morning, the 12th

Blue skies are the kids eat lunch out on the patio.

On Tuesday the 14th (aka my weekend) I finally hung up canvases of the kids I ordered from our November photo shoot.

Finished product!

I also had two pictures of Clara framed and hung them over the trio of Jack in his pumpkin costume.

Later on that afternoon at the church park, Clara and Rosalind thought it would be funny to switch clothes, and Jack and Orson thought it would be funny to photobomb any attempts to take their picture.

Nay-nay visited us Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. Jack schooled her in Simon.

Brec dug this portable fire pit out of our shed and proceeded to burn stuff. He and Jack enjoyed relaxing around the flames.

Snuggle time with Nay-nay Sunday morning.

The night of Monday the 21st the kids eagerly anticipated what would be the first of much snow drama in NC this winter.

The next morning Clara was out bright and early to check out the snow (or lack thereof - though still enough for WCPSS to delay 2 hours).

And enough for Clara to make a snow angel.

After late school and preschool dropoff, Meghan and I returned to the house. Guess who wouldn't look at the camera, except to point out the hole in our porch.

On the 24th Clara's class went on a field trip to Marbles. Here she is with her buddies, William & Rosalind.

On Saturday night the 25th we dined with friends who were moving to Wisconsin. Clara enjoyed a lot of snuggle time with their dog, Vivvie.

And Sunday she got her dose of Vitamin D reading fairy books in the winter sun. Good thing too considering the winter storm that was headed our way!

Clara lost her third tooth by swallowing it while eating an after dinner dessert on the 29th.

Jack played on the iPad while recuperating from the plague that struck our house the end of that last week of the month.
