February Snow

Just two weeks after our big snow at the end of January, another winter storm blew through Raleigh, shut down the city, and cancelled school for several days. Unlike previously when the cancelled school day ended with nary of a flake of snow on the ground, this time WCPSS made the right call. Despite the fact that Wednesday morning the 12th began calm and clear, by noon the snow was falling steadily and had covered the ground by one o'clock. This fast moving storm caught a lot of people off guard and left a large number of motorist stranded. It took Brec almost 1.5 hours to make it 2 miles. But he made it, and then we headed out to play!

Thirty minutes into the snow, already it's looking like winter wonderland.

Clara explores the back yard.

A few pictures of the scenery.

Headed out to go sledding.

Mommy on the sled with Jack and Clara.

Right around this time, it changed from snow to sleet of which Meghan was not a fan.

Daddy & Jack take to the streets with some killer Euro moves.

Valentine's day - sunny with half-melted snow on the ground is much more Meghan's speed.

Doing her impression of Memo.

And finally by Saturday there's just enough snow left for Jack's little Olaf.
