Schaeffers Come to Town

The last weekend in July, the Schaeffers came down for a visit. Clara was so excited to have a sleep over with Luke.

Here they are enjoying some cupcakes.

Dinner chaos - singing at the table (Pop-pop would not be happy). In case you can't recognize the song in the cacophony, it's Alicia Keyes - "New York"!

Back Home/End of July

Chillin' after a fun day at the pool.

Jack's new fav - beans and rice!

Showing off her birthday tutu from Nay-nay

Playing with Daddy's "little computer" aka the iPad.

All set to go to the store but not quite ready to stop playing.

Jack was traumatized by losing his balloon to the wild blue yonder. So he hung onto to the replacement and Clara's for the rest of the day.

At the park

Our friend returned our exersaucer after having borrowed it for her little one who has since out grown it. Of course it was the number one entertainer the week before it was once again put up in the attic.

Clara: August 2009 - 2 years old

Good to know it is still entertaining and sturdy!

Berenstain Bears Week at Grandma's

aka Clara & Jack spend a week with Nay-nay & Pop-pop!

One of the big highlights of the summer has been the week that Jack & Clara spent with Nay-nay & Pop-pop while Brec and I attended a wedding in Northern VA, followed by a week in Raleigh on our own. They had a great visit!

Backyard pool time!

Post-pool snacktime

Eating peaches with his shades on.

The week isn't complete w/o a visit to "Lucy's pool" aka Ridgetop.

or on the kitchen floor.

Why post this picture of Lucy's room you may ask?

'Cause there's a little Skeekbo hidden among the pillows!

Then to top off the week, everyone headed to Memo & Augs' house.

A trip to Memo's wouldn't be complete w/o a makeover.

Check out his new haircut.

Lunch out on the patio.

The other subjects of this picture may not approve, but I had to post it b/c I liked the way I looked. ;)

Back yard pool time at Memo's!

28 weeks!

This Sunday marked the beginning of my third and final trimester, yikes!

In the beginning I was convinced the baby is girl based on how I was feeling compared to my pregnancies with Jack and Clara, but as I go along, now I've begun to doubt the "evidence" and have started thinking boy. Feel free to cast your vote in the poll on the side bar!

Here's a series of belly shots from Clara, Jack, and baby #3.

4th of July (and week)

We had a really nice holiday weekend that ended with a backyard cookout with friends. Here you can see the girls eating cupcakes after copious corn on the cob and watermelon.

The boys, however are more interested in other things... :)

What?

Later that week the kids were modeling their sunglasses.

And finally this has become somewhat of a ritual on the trampoline. Whenever Clara is solo jumping, Jack runs around her.

Summer Week in Richmond

We spent the last week in Richmond to kick start Nay-nay's summer vacation! Among the many fun activities including a trip to the pool from which we do not have any pictures, we managed to remember to take out the camera and capture some moments at our lunch with the Schaeffers and on our trip to the river!

Little kids at the lunch table.

Too cool for school

Big kids dining in style

After lunch reading the world's longest version of Aladdin - Luke wanted to sit in the chair and have me show him the pictures as I was reading.

Mesmerized by the timeless love story.

We spent another day at the Rappahanock River with two of Nay-nay's friends from school. It was a gorgeous day, and the water temp and temperament were perfect.

As you can see by the next three shots, shoveling sand was a favored activity. Clara was trying to cover up "all the yucky black sand with concrete".

Of course Jack followed suit like a good little brother. ;)

This movies shows the kids walking around in the water. I must have followed Jack out until it would get too deep for him and back into the shore before he'd turn around ready for more for at least a half an hour. He just loved being able to walk around so freely. Clara was very steady on her feet and had a great time.

Getting Fancy

Clara is showing off her finger nail polish. When dressing she decided she needed an outfit that was worthy of the polish.

Jack wanted some bling too.

Nothing says fancy like Cinderella heeled shoes.
