The weekend after we returned home from the beach, I headed up to Boston early Friday morning to attend a 75th birthday celebration for my graduate school thesis advisor. Though to be quite honest, it was a perfect excuse to go visit Katie.
It will be a shock no one to see such a classic Boston sky upon landing at Logan.
Thankfully the rain was intermittent throughout the day, and we were able to get in some good touring around the city!
We ate lunch at the delicious Dumpling Cafe in China town. Look at this spread!
Then it was off to the park and the garden. Make way for Ducklings!
We decided to take a swam boat ride, something I never did in my time living up there.
And of course it started to rain while we were on the boat.
Look, it's sunny over there!
After walking around the city a bit more, we drove into Cambridge to hit another one of my old faves, Cristina's Ice Cream. Yum!
Saturday morning started off right with a trip to Demet's Donuts.
And then lunch was South American food at La Qchara, one of Melrose's finest.
Saturday night we went back to MIT to celebrate Steve's 75th birthday. It was just like old times.
I love this view of Boston from the Cambridge side.
Together again!
Our favorite piece of "art" on all of campus!
Next up: First day of school
