After an exciting morning filled with Clara's kindergarten graduation, we decided to keep the party rolling with a night out to dinner at Chuck's. The restaurant gods were apparently not on our side because the service was about as slow as it possibly could have been. We arrived slightly later than usual and being the last day of school for the county, it seemed that everyone else had the same idea we did. The upside was that our delay meant that Pop-pop, who was driving down after work, was able to come straight to the restaurant and join us for delicious burgers and chaos.
Meghan was very glad to see him and sported a mustache very much like his own!
In the window of the restaurant playing with Nay-nay's purse, you can tell we were desperate.
The next day Pop-pop generously offered to watch the kids while Mom & I went shopping for some last minute necessities for our upcomoing trip to the Hamptons for Jay & Kate's wedding. At some point I texted asking whether or not Pop-pop had found the peanut butter, and this was his reply:
Following Meghan's nap and our return from the mall, we headed to the park to give the kids a chance to ride their scooters. As a last day of school surprise, I ended up buying Clara a new pink 2-wheel Razor with the intention of giving her red 2-wheel one to Jack, who had clearly graduated from the 3-wheeled one he'd received for his birthday only a month before.
Look who wanted to try out her "new" scooter.
Surprisingly, or not if you know Meghan, she's quite good at it!
Nay-nay and Pop-pop left the following morning but not without giving us a great start to the summer!
