Somehow before I could get a grip on the new year, January has already come and gone.
Jan. 5: This particular Saturday night we decided to get all dolled up (at least the kids did) and try out a new restaurant downtown(ish), Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. It was pretty tasty, and the kids loved the fries and milkshakes. A tantrum or two made the meal a bit dicey, but the loud atmosphere really drowned out the ruckus at our table.
Clara wearing her Christmas finest.
Meghan sporting Clara's first Christmas dress. I can't believe it took me this long to get her in it. The second shot really gives you the full view for... comparison's sake!
Keep in mind Meghan's about six months older than Clara was when she wore it.
(And look how much weight daddy has lost since then!)
Total stinker carrying around her water cup from dinner.
Jan. 6: Sunday afternoon stretching our legs on the greenway. The kids made a new climbing spot out of a newly felled tree.
Of course nothing beats the old faithful climbing spots.
Jan. 8: Daddy traveled to Seattle for a business trip, so we were lucky enough to have Luc come down and stay a few days with us since classes had not yet started up for her. She's teaching Meghan the love of peanut butter early.
Making peanut butter kiss cookies, "Rolldy, rolldy, rolldy, rolldy, rolldy, all done!" was Jack's chant as he dipped each ball into the sugar.
While the cookies are baking, there's a lion on the loose.
Will smile for a chance to play with an iPhone.
Nay-nay's back in town, and guess who's wearing her boots?
Jan. 14: Another walk, another chance to climb on the new stump.
Jan. 20: Nothing says winter like a delicious snack of frozen blueberries.
When Jack was a baby, one thing that alerted us to the fact that he was a lefty was that after a blueberry snack, it was his left hand that was predominantly blue. Meghan's hand preference remains a mystery. She still seems pretty equal opportunity.
Jan. 21: Cute pictures and more blueberries.
Jan. 29: Everyone is excited about the new washing machine, especially me. Six days without a washer in a household of five people will do that to you. Our old one died the day after its five-year extended warranty expired... perfect. But the new one seems to be great. It has a child lock which is awesome, and it "sings" when it's finished which delights Jack to no end.
