Early August

Once again I'm back to playing catch-up. I just can't seem to get ahead this summer. Here are some goings-on around the house from the first half of August.

Jeekers continues to be wowed by gadgets. Here is a double pleasure, climbing on furniture and playing with the remote.

Washing machines are v. exciting.

Playing in the fireplace is super-fun!

Jeekbo wandering around the house.

Jeekers is "all done"

He plays hard, but he also sleeps too. These shots were too cute to resist.

I had to snap this picture of Clara's unique meal of tomatoes and Nay-nay cereal (aka Oatmeal Squares).

A more normal cuisine - "peanut butter salad sandwich".

In with her dolls

The kids continue to have fun together.

Checking out the backyard early in the morning.

More frog walking

I wanted to catch the kids playing beside one another, but of course as soon as Jack notices the camera, he's off to try and push buttons.

Tea cup

Lately Jack has been in the habit of carrying around something little wherever he goes, and most of the time it's a tea cup. Here is just a short clip of him moving around with it.

Rest of July

And finally we are caught up, just in time for August. Here are some shots of the rest of July.

Jeekers became adept at crawling up on furniture and is enjoying his new found freedom.

He loves his new chair from Aunt Betts!

In mid-July we were invited to celebrate Clara's friend Carmen's birthday with a princess tea party at her house. The girls ate in the dining room in their hats, pearls, and gloves with real tea in china cups.

Enjoying some fine cuisine

Rocking her birthday necklace from Caleb & Adelina.

Lucy came down to visit us last weekend while Clara was still in Richmond with Nay-nay. She had some fun one-on-one Jeekers time. Apparently he wanted to take a dip in the bucket.

Jeekbo Turns 15 Months Old!

On Wednesday Jeekbo turned 15 months old. He's getting to be such a big boy! And check out his new shoes.

Clara at 15 months.

And now for the who's who? I tried to get the pictures as similar as possible, but you know how that goes.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a nice 4th of July weekend reunited as a family. The weather was quite beautiful compared to what came before and what we've had since. It started off high 80's on Saturday with low 90's on Sunday but with low humidity for both making them quite enjoyable. Saturday we participated in our neighborhood's parade led by a fire truck. It finished off at a local elementary school where the kids got ice cream and played on the playground. Sunday we went over to the Malls' for a cookout. All and all a very festive and fun holiday weekend.

Taking a break after running around the grassy field.

Out on a morning festive morning walk.

Checking out the beer selection at the cookout.

Family Gathering

Also during our time in Richmond we had the opportunity to meet up with some of the Carson family visiting from the West, cousins Steven, Maureen, and Elizabeth Ruby Traylor in from Denver. The pictures aren't the greatest, but they're all we got. It was really great for Clara and Jack to get a chance to meet Elizabeth who will be 2 in November.

Richmond to Start the Summer!

The last ten days in June we spent vacationing in Richmond. We had a really nice time visiting with friends and family, and it was a really nice change of scenery. Here are some highlights or rather moments we managed to capture on film.

Delicious homemade raspberry-lemonade popsicles from Nay-nay.

Jack took a moment out of playing with the latch on the trunk to smile.

Relaxing in the morning in the living room furniture...

Licking the beater after Nay-nay made a cake.

Snuggling with Nay2

One of the days we went to Toys R Us and as a special treat from Nay-nay, Clara got to ride on the fire truck with Ernie.

We were able to take a trip to Ridgetop, our old summer league pool where the swimming all started.

Chillin' in the baby pool

The weather was pretty hot, but that didn't dissuade Jack from playing with the water table. He got creative and used it as a pool. He really enjoyed being outside unlike his sister who seemed to think that it was too hot.

I am Jeekbo, hear me roar.
